ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, GUAM (AFPN) -- Bombers from the 2nd Air Expeditionary Group -- three B-2 Spirits and three B-52H Stratofortresses -- completed their global power training mission Oct. 6. All aircraft departed here on long flights to their home bases at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., and Barksdale AFB, La., respectively.
"We did exactly what we said we were going to do when we first arrived. We deployed to a forward location and proved to the world that we could conduct training missions within the Pacific theater," said Col. Bob Bruley, 2nd AEG commander.
During this global power deployment, the 2nd AEG completed 34 training missions and logged more than 350 flying hours.
The aircraft and 277 support personnel including security forces from Goodfellow AFB, Texas, Offutt AFB, Neb., and McConnell AFB, Kan., deployed to Andersen Sept. 5.
While at Andersen, the B-52s and B-2s from the 2nd AEG participated in training operations in the Pacific region from as far north as South Korea and as far east as Wake Island.
These missions demonstrate America's ability to respond quickly to any crisis in the world with a variety of methods if required, according to Air Force officials. (Courtesy of Pacific Air Forces News Service)
