Annex 2 to the Protocol consists of a list titled "List of Characterization Parameters for International Data Centre Standard Event Screening." This list is specified in subparagraph 18(b) of the Protocol. In many states' view, one of the most important tasks of the IDC is to apply on a routine basis automatic processing methods and human analysis to data that is received from signals detected by the various parts of the IMS. Each signal of an "event" will be analyzed by the IMS using parameters such as those listed in Annex 2. Note that this list is not exhaustive. The results of these analyses will be reported in IDC products.
