PRESS RELEASE
Regular Russian-Chinese consultations on ABM-related issues were held in Moscow on May 16-19. Foreign and defense ministry experts took part on both sides.

Detailed views were exchanged on various aspects of the situation around the ABM Treaty in connection with the existing plans to create a national ABM system of the United States, something that is not allowed by this Treaty. The exchange of views confirmed the identity or closeness of Russia's and China's assessments.

Also studied were various possible variants of Russian-Chinese cooperation and interaction.

The agreement to hold such consultations in the future was confirmed.
