Q: What is China's comment on the US NMD experiment?

A: We have taken note of the report. We have always maintained that the US is the strongest military power in the world and that its violation of the missile defence system in the ABM Treaty will do no good to the global and regional strategic balance and stability. I would like to point it out again that the 54th General Assembly adopted with an overwhelming majority the resolution to maintain and observe the ABM Treaty, which showed that nearly all of the international community are opposed to or not in favor of the attempt by certain country to amend the ABM Treaty and to develop the anti-missile system. We urge certain country to heed the strong appeal of the international community in real earnest, think carefully before it acts and give up the above-mentioned plan.
